Shielding has many downsides. But an upside for me has been incentive to try new things and (too much) extra time alone to practice. Before October 2021 I had never painted a human face – at least not during adulthood. So it seems appropriate that I kick off 2022 with a Portrait Challenge. Richard and I both painted a portrait each day in January based on reference images we took turns selecting from @museumbysketchy.
